This is where the shape and soul of every decor piece are defined. In our model workshop, we refine forms, perfect details, and optimize the underlying structure. A well-executed model ensures that every phase that follows fits together seamlessly.

We build models for a variety of purposes. Sometimes as preparation for mold building, other times as a standalone element within the final decor. Whatever the purpose, this phase is all about precision and accuracy. A model must be technically sound, easy to reproduce, and visually spot-on.

From raw shape to precision

A model is more than just a test phase – it’s the backbone of a decor piece. In this stage, we define what a piece will look like and how it’s constructed. It’s a crucial step where no detail is overlooked, and every element is worked out to fit seamlessly into the next phase of the process. We determine how a shape behaves, how the details are built, and how everything relates to the final structure.

Using CNC milling, we can achieve contours and structures with extreme precision. For more complex or organic shapes, 3D printing allows us to fine-tune every curve and detail. Still, craftsmanship plays a vital role. Some forms are trimmed or sanded by hand, and textures and surface details are built up layer by layer until everything looks and feels just right.

Material choice depends on how the model will be used. For strong, structural models we mostly use wood and composite materials. Foam and plastics are ideal for lightweight or temporary constructions. Each model is created with the end goal in mind, whether it serves as the base for a mold or stands on its own as part of the final decor.

Schuim, kunststoffen, composieten – elk materiaal heeft een eigen karakter en wordt gekozen op basis van functionaliteit en afwerking. Soms is een prototype puur bedoeld om constructie en stevigheid te testen, soms draait het om het finetunen van details voordat de definitieve productie begint. Wat het doel ook is, deze stap voorkomt verrassingen en zorgt ervoor dat alles klopt voordat we verdergaan.
