Efteling
Grand Hotel
On 1 August 2025, Efteling Grand Hotel opened its doors: the first hotel located within the theme park itself. An impressive seven-storey building, approximately 106 metres wide, with 140 rooms and suites offering a total of 644 beds. Guests can enjoy views of iconic attractions such as the Fairytale Forest and the Aquanura water show.
We contributed to the theming of this remarkable hotel, creating elements such as the pilasters on the façade, made from fire-retardant polyester, and the elegant decorative pinnacles adorning the roof. We were responsible for the models, moulds and production of these elements, while the decorative finishing and installation were handled by other members of the construction team.
The art of subtle theming
Efteling Grand Hotel was deliberately designed to be different from an extravagant fairytale hotel. The stories of Efteling are subtly woven into its design and atmosphere: elegant, refined and with a nod to the park’s history.
For a scenic design and fabrication specialist, this is perhaps one of the greatest challenges. Decorative elements shouldn’t demand attention, but rather blend seamlessly into their surroundings. Every detail has to be just right, from shape and texture to the final finish.
For us, however, the biggest challenge was the schedule. We were brought into the project relatively late in the construction process, yet still managed to complete everything on time, with every detail carefully finished to the highest standard.
Composites with a classic touch
As with all our projects, we followed our tried-and-tested process: from design and model-making through mould-making to production and finishing in-house.
Composite materials are ideally suited to applications like these. Lightweight, versatile, durable and adaptable to virtually any style, they can be used to create everything from classical architectural ornaments to seamlessly integrated scenic features.
For the pilasters and decorative roof pinnacles of Efteling Grand Hotel, we first created the master models, used them to produce the moulds and then manufactured all the components. Each piece was carefully prepared before being handed over to the specialist responsible for the final spray finish.
Stay where the magic never ends
Since the summer of 2025, guests have been able to stay right in the heart of Efteling for the very first time. Efteling Grand Hotel combines the grandeur of a classic luxury hotel with the imagination and storytelling that make the park so special.
