Snorri – from digital mascot to real life character.

We proudly present Snorri – the beloved mascot of Rulantica, Europapark’s immersive water world. Usually seen only in digital form, he now welcomes visitors at the park entrance as a fully tangible, cheeky character brought to life.

Magic from the very first moment

Rulantica is a place where imagination, adventure and water fun come together. From the moment guests arrive, Snorri pulls them into this world. Throughout the water attractions, he appears in short story moments both above and below the surface. He guides visitors through the waves of Lumafåls, past the friendly danger of Svalgur and through attractions such as Snorri’s Saga and Vildstrøm.

From digital design to physical character

For Redbird Studios, transforming Snorri into a physical character was an honour. The challenge was turning a digital animation into a sculpture that carries the same playfulness, charm and recognisability in the real world.

This process required precision and craftsmanship. Snorri was created through a combination of cast elements and hand layup composite work. Layer by layer, his shape, colours and textures were built up and carefully aligned with the original design. It’s a piece where technique and artistry come together seamlessly.

A result we’re proud of

The end result: a lifelike Snorri that brings Rulantica to life even before visitors set foot inside. A character that adds a sense of magic to their first impression.

For us, Snorri is more than a mascot. He represents what becomes possible when design, craft and creativity meet. A project that embodies what Redbird Studios stands for.
